We have been remodeling our kitchen since Labor Day. We actually started the design process about a month before that but Labor Day was when the demolition started. I ca say not having a kitchen for a month was really really hard. BUT I must admit I love my kitchen so much, it was totally worth it. So the first 2 are the BEFORE shots.

Last month we decided to move up from our pop up camper. It was the pop up I had camped in since I was 4. I loved that camper so much and it was very hard to let it go. i know that seems silly. I miss the old camper smell and all of the retro fabrics and colors. But on the upside we bought a used airstream. I have to say this is much cooler (also literally) than the pop up. I am excited for all of the family memories we are going to make over the years with the kids. They love camping as much as we do and I love that it is our "thing".  So we took the airstream out for its debut trip to Cumberland Plateau. There was an airstream only campground there. Which was ok but it was more like a retirement community. Anyhow, we had fun except we realized it was missing the two best parts about camping. Campfires and swimming. So we will have to research some other areas for our next trip. If you know of any close to Clarksville leave a comment below. Our favorite place to camp which we did this July in Texas is on the Frio River. Garner State Park is another Frio favorite! So we still have our tent for camping too. We like to have options I guess. :)

Well Hello Clarksville! We have been here 2 weeks and working like crazy to get the house in order. Unpacking into a home that you plan on being in for 15 years is much harder than the regular 2 year army move for us. Really settling in and unpacking everything is hard work. But I am loving every minute of it! Josh and the kids and I are happy. There are a lot of projects we have done are still working on and plan to do over the next year or so. We still plan to put all new hardwood floors down through out the house, update the kitchen. I am so torn with my vintage appliances. I love them and want to keep them but I want new counters and cabinets one day. I like my little kitchen. So you will see several quirky little things about this house that made us fall in love with it. One of my favorite things is the retro all transistor radio and intercom that runs all thru the house. I dial in the radio station (and oh my, I am in Heaven with all of the Nashville Country stations!!!) and I can listen to it anywhere I am. Even the kids rooms and my office! SO lets see. Our house is on an acre and so far we have seen in OUR BACKYARD deer, baby twin fawns, an owl, a groundhog named Charlie, 9 wild turkey that come thru almost every day, and a million fireflies that make our backyard a magical place at night. Our neighborhood backs up to the Red River and it is so peaceful and quiet. Guess what?! I can't hear any yappy dogs! :) So here are some pics for all of you that have been asking. Excuse the mess. I will post more soon of our Crossfit Garage Gym Josh is building and our garden we will be working on. I am super excited about that. Ok, I am super excited about everything! If you are still reading this, THANKS! ;) haha.

Hi laura! Just ran across your site and saw your are an army wife ... but also to a pilot! My husband is in the air force and just started his pilot training .. so we have a long career ahead of us, but I am very excited for it! It makes me excited when I see other people (photographers) who are traveling in the military! It is hard, but rewarding at the same time!

On March 11, 2000 Josh and I were married. Here are a few of my favorite images from that day. These were all shot on film and hand printed. I scanned them so excuse the dust specks. These pictures are the reason I do what I do today. I fell in love with photography through these images.

With all of the snow we have had plenty of extra time on our hands. Kate and Will are giving their classmates Valentine bookmarks this year. Kate is super into reading and is halfway through the Harry Potter series and Will is doing awesome in learning to read. So books are very big around our house these days. So I bought some cool heart fabric from Ikea and took a quick shot of each kid after school. I designed the bookmarks and ordered them from Overnight Prints. Kate and Will hammered the grommets and I tied the ribbon. It was cute to watch her write little notes to each of her friends on the back. 2nd grade is so funny. Well I guess Kinder is too. Kate says that a boy named Garth likes her and Will says a girl named Meagan thinks he is cute. haha!
